This specialized headset ensures reliable communication in high-stakes scenarios, providing several key advantages:
Integrated Design: Easy field-installation into fire-resistant helmets.
Hands-Free Operation: Keeps the operator’s hands free to operate fire nozzles, tools, and rescue equipment.
Device Protection: Protects the radio unit from atmospheric, mechanical, and thermal impacts.
Versatile Deployment: Allows for standard radio placement under or over protective clothing, or inside jacket/coverall pockets.
Mask Compatibility: Enables clear communication both with and without breathing apparatus (SCBA) masks.
Specialized Suit Support: Compatible with heat-reflective suits (TOK-200, TK-800) and TRELLEBORG isolating protective suits.
Ergonomic PTT: One-handed (or shoulder) push-to-talk control.
Situational Awareness: Maintains the operator's acoustic orientation in "Standby/Receive" mode.
Noise Cancellation: Protects transmissions against external acoustic interference.
Field Maintainability: Fully repairable under operational conditions.
Compatibility
Radios: Baofeng, Kenwood TK208, TK220, TK240, TK248, TK250, TK260G, TK270, TK270G, TK308, TK340, TK350, TK430, TK2100, TK2207, TK3201, TK330, TK3107, TK3207, TK3160, TC265, TC270, TC365, TC366, TC380, TK3302, TK3000, NX340.
Helmet Mounting: An extended button is available for helmets with a shell thickness (distance between inner and outer surfaces) of up to 15 mm (e.g., Calisia helmets).
Protective Masks: Compatible with all mask types (open or closed-ear designs).
Operational Details
The transition from receive to transmit mode is performed with the left hand by pressing the PTT button located on the outer surface of the helmet. The button is designed to be operated with a full palm press, even while wearing heavy protective gloves.
This action provides additional insulation for the microphone and speaker against external noise, significantly improving audio quality. Releasing the button returns the radio to receive mode. The headset-equipped helmet requires no modifications to the mask or specialized microphone positioning.
Transmission Intelligibility: Grade 2–4 (Contextual), depending on conditions
